Watch Venom Spin-off Movie Reviews Trailer Spider Man 4 Villain
According to the Hollywood Reporter is coverage old news of a Venom spin-off movie in the workings at Sony. The plan is to create the Spider-Man villain the center of his own story take apart from that franchise while still moving forward with a fourth Spidery in 2011.
The HR story is say a draft was finished by Jacob Estes but they mostly didn’t like it and are moving in a further direction. So they’re support to meeting with writers.
They also said agents are circling the guide role since “Sony is not yet convinced [Topher Grace] can carry a tent pole picture.” Grace plays Venom in the monetarily successful but generally disappointing Spider-Man 3.
Basing an entire Venom movie on a villain will be a hard sell though. Venom is merely cool as he fights Spider-Man 4. Taking him out of that story to fight normal people is pretty boring.
